As many of you are aware one of our lovely Big Walkies pooches 7 month old Tyson (the kindest Bullmastiff we know) had a terrible accident yesterday.
Whilst tied up at the shops (not for long and somewhere he's been going since a pup) he got spooked. So much so he pulled the drain pipe off the wall and scarpered. When his owner, Shane, caught him, Tyson was crying in pain and limping.
They rushed him to the vets and were told he had a nasty break and after deliberation with the vets they decided the kindest thing to do for him would be to amputate his leg.
Shane & Fleur (his owners) spent an agonising night downstairs with Tyson whilst they waited for his vets appointment this morning.
Tyson went onto the operating table at around 1pm and has another hour to go. We are all hoping he's off the table by 5pm. He will then need lots of rest and recuperation.
Shane and Fleur would like to thank everybody who has been in touch and will keep us posted.
Lets all keep our fingers and paws crossed that Tyson makes a quick recovery.

***UPDATE*** 1/7/2013, 4.55pm:
Tyson is out of surgery and being very vocal! He lost a lot of blood so is on a drip and will stay at the vets tonight
Fleur and Shane are off to see Tyson and will be transporting him from Huntingdon to Milton Vets 24 for overnight care.
Tyson is now at Milton vets. He's doing really well. He should be home tomorrow. Hoping he gets a good night of rest!
Tyson is enjoying lots of fuss and cuddles from the nurses and is even trying out his 3 paws for balance. He should hopefully be home tomorrow with his 3 other doggy friends and lovely humans!
