This venue for www.big walkies.org.uk started on the 1st of September 2012 and has taken place every Saturday morning at 10.30am (bar one cancelled because of the snow).
It has varied in terms of attendance from three to thirteen dogs but we have been growing week on week partly because of the popularity of the walk with dogs being socialised for the ‘hearing dogs’ charity. Our regular hearing dogs include Maisie (Cocker), Marni (Retriever) and Pearl (Poodle) and now we have been joined by new recruits such as the very gorgeous Esther (Cocker) and Brock (Cocker). They all have their own characteristics and are lots of fun. Marni starts off white and ends up black and Brock does plenty of ‘litter picking’. They always play beautifully together.
Other regular dogs include Sprockett who had behavioural issues with other dogs and his owner, Helen, finds the regular attendance at the group more useful that behavioural training.
Hearing feedback like that is very gratifying.
Overall the walk is well received and is a pleasant meander through the park.
Hopefully it will continue to grow in terms of popularity especially when the weather improves.
