WOOFBRIDGE - The Bark in the Park - 'All things Doggy' - Saturday 22nd September 2012 - in Elmhurst Park Woodbridge, Suffolk - 12 till 3pm

Woodbridge in Suffolk becomes 'WOOFBRIDGE' on Saturday the 22nd of September when 'Woofbridge - The Bark in the Park - comes to the beautiful Elmhurst Park in a celebration of 'All things Doggy' from 12 to 3pm. The event being organised by the Choose Woodbridge Partnership and sponsored by Sandy Lane Kennels, Charsfield.

Woodbridge stakes it's claim as 'The most dog-friendly town in Britain'. Manager for the Choose Woodbridge Partnership, Neil Boast, explained, "Everyone who comes to Woodbridge always says how dog-friendly we are. We are far more dog-friendly than other towns I have visited and we felt we ought to highlight that fact. All the pubs here are dog-friendly and give dog treats out and one even has a dog-menu! The shops are the same and as a dog owner myself I appreciate that you can take your dog to Woodbridge and still shop and eat-out"

WOOFBRIDGE will feature displays, a novelty dog show, health and behaviour advice, breed group meet-ups and trade stands, refreshments (dog and human!) and much more. The event is not just for dog owners, Neil explained, "This is an event for everyone. If you are thinking about owning a dog there will be advice for you so you can make the right choice. It's a FREE event in the beautiful Elmhurst Park. There will be free parking nearby at the Suffolk Coastal District Council Offices, or you can park up nearby and have a nice walk into the park".

Breed groups and welfare groups are welcome to attend the show and display FREE - please contact Neil on the details below....

Trade Stands and Exhibitors - please contact for more details to book a pitch at this event - Neil Boast via e-mail or mobile on neilboastchoosewoodbridge@gmail.com Mobile 07528778923

A lovely letter from Lula the dog.
Sorry we had to cancel your big walkies on Sunday, but we would be irresponsible if we hadn't!
Jackie and Becca are looking to reschedule ASAP!
Wood regards,

Omg I totally forgot my baby's birthday, I feel awful!
Buddy was 3 on Friday and I forgot.... An extra special treat should make up for it!
Buddy was a big part of setting up my very own company; Big Walkies. I wanted to celebrate his birthday when he was 1 and organised a BBQ.... Bring in trusty England; it rained. So a week later a few friends and their dogs met up and walked together. From there on Big Walkies was born and continues to grow bigger and bigger!
Buddy is my best friend and always puts a smile on my face if I'm feeling a bit low.
Those of you with pets, will understand!!

Becca xx

Last year we held a Big Walkies at Milton Country Park with great success. We have managed to find a wonderful volunteer, Becca Clark, who will organise weekly walks at the park.

The Milton Weekly Walk will take place at 10.30am every Saturday. Meeting by the toilets in the grassed area.  The walks start on Saturday 1st September 2012.  There is a small fee for parking, you can purchase a 6 month pass which will save you money – just ask at reception when you arrive.

Big Walkies is completely free to join and take part in (excluding parking charges). We hold weekly walks in St Ives, Ramsey, St Neots and soon Milton. We also hold a big walk at Hinchingbrooke Country Park on a monthly basis.

Jackie and Becca, directors of Big Walkies, say: “we are delighted to welcome Becca Clark on board to the team. We’ve also recently recruited Lynn Jenkins for our weekly Ramsey walk too. We are so lucky to work and meet such wonderful people who love their dogs as much as we do!”

Why not join Big Walkies and give it a go? Visit: www.bigwalkies.org.uk or call them on: (Becca) 07969118350 or (Jackie) 07801 591148.

Big Walkies Community Group (BWCG) was formed in February 2011 with the sole intention of making a positive contribution to society. As dog owners we realise the need to try and engage our community in positive activities, and the need has never been greater as it is today.

PLEASE NOTE: Tomorrow's Big Walkies has been cancelled due to the heat.

We had made the decision to cancel the walk earlier on today but due to personal circumstances have been unable to update everyone up until now.

Apologies for the delay and we hope to see you when it's less hot!
